Board Navigation changes, based on Community feedback

Hello everyone! In recent weeks, we have received valuable feedback from users regarding the board switching experience in the latest version of Trello, which is currently being rolled out. We truly appreciate your insights, suggestions, and patience. We are excited to share some of the enhancements that we will be releasing in the next few weeks to address your feedback.

Ability To Pin Board Switcher

We’ve seen that for some users it is very important to retain a list of their boards, available without an extra click. To address this feedback we will be adding the ability for users to pin the board switcher as a panel that can be expanded/collapsed - so that you can continue switching between your boards in a familiar manner. Now you can search as well as quickly switch between boards that span different workspaces.

To switch from the current popover board switcher to the pinned version, click the board switcher button located in the button navigation. Then, click the … icon in the top right corner and select the pinned board switcher option.

List View In Board Switcher

While the majority of users love seeing their board represented as very visual tiles in the board switcher, we have heard from many users that they would prefer to see them more of traditional list. To address this feedback we will be adding the ability for users to toggle between our current tile view and a more traditional list view.

To switch to list view, click on the board switcher button in the button navigation and click the list/grid icon in the top right.

Other Improvements To Board Switcher

In addition to the improvements above, we will also be making some other small tweaks to the board switcher to help remove friction in the board switching process. This will include 1) switching to vertical scroll instead of horizontal scroll for the starred/recent sections, 2) giving users the ability to collapse the star/recent sections and 3) remembering which workspaces/sections you had expanded/collapsed.

Thank you Trello dev team ! I am really glad common sense prevailed and we now have this option. Really appreciate you hearing us on this and implementing an almost exact fix instead of some 50% hack. Great work !!!

Amazing @Alexandros Mathopoulos

It is another example, like mirror cards where changes have been made that keep things moving forward while addressing the key concerns of the users... 🤞

Can't wait to see this rolled out 😃

Yay for common sense; and a good first step of getting back on track with Usability and Productivity

Now we just need to...

  1. Get rid of this silly floating toolbar and place these buttons in the top-menu where they truly belong (there is still plenty of space) #Usability
  2. Allow custom/PowerUp buttons to be front and center on the new Card Back and in general clean up the mess of having functionality buttons in 3 places (top right, below title and on yet another silly floating toolbar at the bottom) on such a small UI Area #Productivity #Usability
  3. Add the ability to hide individual custom fields from card-back (Hey, you wanted simplicity, yet you do not allow us to hide technical/automation-driven custom fields from the UI to free up clutter) #Usability

... and we have ourself a decent new experience #CommonSense

need the ability to have buttons automatically appear on cards and not a hover+click away

Today is saw a new layout / font / fontsize. being used on the Trello cards.
This messes up a lot of layout for me and makes half the information invisible (the top rows disappear).

Is there a way to reverse this 'update'?

I also noticed the font/text size got way bigger inside the card, and this just started today.  Can this be configured or reverted?

Zooming out makes the actual card view smaller, but the text within the cards is way too big.

Unfortunately, I do not see the option to click on the "icon in the top right corner and select the pinned board switcher option."  And this switcher below is extremely inconvenient*(
